Samples will be collected at 5-foot intervals and
preserved for possible later analysis. If no field evidence of vadose zone contamination
is found, soil samples are unlikely to be submitted for laboratory analysis.
The groundwater sample will be submitted to Sherwood Laboratories of Hilmar (State
Certified Laboratory #1400) and tested for the presence of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene
and xylene (BTEX) and for MTBE by method EPA 602. If MTBE is detected, a
confirmation analysis by method 8260 will also be run. The sample will also be tested for
the presence of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH-G) by EPA method 8015m. The
detection limits for the BTEX analysis is 0.3 µg/L, 2 tig/L for MTBE, and 50 µg/L for
TPH-G. A Chain of Custody for tracking and to ensure sample integrity will accompany
all sample(s) submitted to the laboratory.
3.0 REPORTING
The information gathered during this phase of work will be presented in a report, which
will include the results of field data, and sample analyses, and their implications. The
report will be prepared and signed by a registered geologist responsible for the work.
2937 Veneman Ave., #B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc.
