15 May 2006 <br />AGE-NC Project No. 06-1414 <br />Page 2 of 5 <br />Total recoverable petroleum hydrocarbons (TRPH) in accordance with EPA Method 1664; <br />Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) full scan with methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), <br />benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylene (BTEX), in accordance with EPA Method <br />8260B; and <br />Cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), copper (Cu), lead (Pb), nickel (Ni) and zinc (Zn) in <br />accordance with Method SW846 6010B. <br />2.2. ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF SAMPLES <br />TRPH and Zn were detected in the sample collected at concentrations of 24 milligrams per liter <br />(mg/1) and 1.9 mg/1, respectively. <br />Various VOCs were detected in the sample collected at the following concentrations: 2,000 1.1g/1 <br />toluene, 2,500 µg/1 ethylbenzene, 26,000 p.g/1 m,p-xylene, 2,600 jig,/1 o-xylene, 150 jig/1 <br />isopropylbenzene, 260 i.ig/1 n-propylbenzene, 890 ps/1 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene, 960 µg/1 1,2,4- <br />trimethylbenzene, 720 p.g/lp-isopropyltoluene. <br />No other analytes were detected at or above laboratory detection limits in the samples analyzed. The <br />laboratory report (CTEL Project. No. C T214-06040041), quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) <br />report, and chain of custody form are included in Appendix B. <br />2.3. ADDITIONAL SITE INVESTIGATION <br />SJCEHD has implemented UIC at the site by letter dated 19 April 2006. Based on the previous <br />analytical results, further investigation of the septic system is to be performed to evaluate the <br />potential threat to drinking water. SJCEHD directive letter is provided in Appendix A. <br />3.0. SCOPE OF WORK <br />The scope of work includes the treatment and proper disposal of contaminated septic waste, septic <br />tank cleaning and inspection, and advancement of two soil borings for the collection and analysis <br />of soil samples. Upon completion of the proposed work, a report will be prepared and reviewed by <br />a California Registered Geologist. The scope of work will include the following tasks: <br />Septic tank contents treatment and disposal; <br />Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
