HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN <br />2. KEY BC PROJECT PERSONNEL AND RESPONSIBILITES <br />Jason Grant is the Project Manager (PM). Jim Bucha is the Regional Safety Unit Manager (RSUM). <br />Tim Hendrickson has been designated as the BC Site Safety Officer (SSO) for this project. The BC <br />project field staff have completed 40 hours of comprehensive health and safety training, which <br />meets the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120. <br />The responsibilities of key BC project personnel are presented below. <br />2.1 Project Manager <br />The PM is responsible for evaluating hazards anticipated at the Site and working with designated <br />field staff and the RSUM to prepare this HASP to address the identified hazards. The PM is also <br />responsible for the following. <br />Informing project participants of safety and health hazards identified at the Site <br />Providing a copy of this HASP to BC project participants and a copy to each BC <br />subcontractor prior to the start of field activities. <br />Ensuring that the BC project team is adequately trained and perform safety briefings in <br />accordance with this HASP. <br />Providing the resources necessary for maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for <br />BC personnel. <br />Communicating project safety concerns to the RSUM for determining corrective actions. <br />2.2 Site Safety Officer <br />The SSO has on-Site responsibility for verifying that BC team members, including subcontractors, <br />comply with the provisions of this HASP. The SSO has the authority to monitor and correct health <br />and safety issues as noted on-Site. The SSO is responsible for the following. <br />Reporting unforeseen or unsafe conditions or work practices at the Site to the PM or RSUM. <br />Stopping operations that threaten the health and safety of BC field team or members of the <br />surrounding community. <br />Monitoring the safety performance of Site personnel to evaluate the effectiveness of health <br />and safety procedures. <br />Performing air monitoring, as necessary, as prescribed in this HASP. <br />a Documenting field team compliance with this HASP by completing the appropriate BC forms <br />contained in the Appendices of this document. <br />Conducting daily tailgate safety meetings and assuring that project personnel understand the <br />requirements of this HASP (as documented by each BC field team member's signature on the <br />Signature Page). <br />BRUN 1 ,,,u( DWCIA <br />2-1
