0 0
Thanks Gerald. As I believe I explained, when we purchased this property, the seller, Pilkington NA,set up a hold back
escrow account, giving us a fund to draw upon to deal with removing this site from closed landfill status and recycle it
for industrial development. My ability to draw funds expires on August 22.Since our acquisition of the property in
February,we have worked diligently to address and respond to the questions raised by the LEA.We have completed
that scope and I believe that the LEA has forwarded the results of that investigation to the Regional Board and
CalRecycle. As my window to access these funds is closing and additional testing requires some lead time, can we please
set up a quick conference call this week(15 minutes)with the Regional Board and CalRecycle to review our proposed
scope of work?Thank you,
Dana
Reynolds& Brown/ Lic.00334431
1200 Concord Avenue,Suite 200/Concord, CA 94520 T 925.674-8400/F 925.689.1535/C 925.451.9046
danap@reynoldsandbrown.com
-----Original Message-----
From: Djuth, Gerald@Waterboards [mailto:Gerald.Djuth@waterboards.ca.gov]
Sent: Monday,June 22, 2015 2:15 PM
To: Dana Parry
Cc: Palmer,Ann@Waterboards;Ambrose, Sabra@CalRecycle (Sabra.Ambrose @Cal Recycle.ca.gov); William Little
(wlittle@advgeoenv.com); Robert McClellon [EH] (RMcClellon@sjcehd.com)
Subject: RE: Pilkington Facility, Lathrop, CA
Thanks Dana. We looked it up on the SWIS website this morning and found the same thing. Although the landfill
appears to be mostly glass and from the analyses that I've seen there does not appear to be a water quality issue, I do
note that Advanced GeoEnvironmental did not really define the groundwater gradient at the waste site. If we assume
it is similar to the diesel spill area, the groundwater samples they collected would be at the up gradient and side
gradient edge of the waste. I'd like to see a down gradient sample near the waste area.
We also have a few other questions from our file about the waste stream from Pilkington, chemicals used in their
process, disposition of bag dust waste, a sump that DHS recommended removing, and others. I am going to have Ann
Palmer compile a list of our questions, and try to coordinate with Cal Recycle and SJCEHD to get all the issues on the
table so that we can get this put to rest. I'd like to have a list compiled by the end of the week.
Regarding a site visit next week, I would like to visit the site. However,we are in the midst of a "changing of the guard"
here and we also have some "fires" burning, so I cannot commit to a site visit at this time. I'll know more by the end of
the week.
Let me get a list together, and we can proceed from there.
From: Dana Parry [mailto:danap@reynoldsandbrown.com]
3
