0
23 June 2015
PILKINGTON NORTH AMERICA PROPERTY
SWIS 39-0022
Mr. Dana Parry
AGE is providing the following responses to recommendations for additional
investigation requirements provided by Mr. Glenn Young of CalRecycle via Email on 22
June 2015. CalRecycle "directives" are in bold; AGE's responses are in italics.
CalRecycle recommendation for Additional Investigation Requirement
(CalRecycle Requirement): Historical Aerial Photographs for the site from 1960-
1990
AGE has previously obtained and reviewed historical aerial photographs for southwest
area of the site. A description of the aerial photographs, identifying the waste handling
area, will be included in a report of findings and are attached for review.
CalRecycle Requirement: Request for information from Pilkington North America
or Libby-Owens-Ford for all files/reports/correspondence related to the disposal
site
AGE has requested documents from Pilkington North America. However, to date, no
information regarding the disposal facility has been provided by PNA. AGE would
request any documents which CalRecyle can provide for the regulatory oversight of the
former disposal site.
CalRecycle Requirement: Geophysical Survey based on the results of reviewing
historical aerial photographs and determining the maximum extent of operation
(including the Power Plant property)
A GPR survey is scheduled for 29 and 30 June 2015. The area which CalRecycle has
designated as the PNA "Disposal" site will be surveyed. Open space at 17200 North
Murphy Parkway and the Murphy Parkway right-of-way will also be evaluated using
GPR. AGE has provided written request to the adjacent landowners for access to the
former co-generation power plant, however no assurances can be made that access for
the survey within the facility barriers will be granted. Results of the GPR survey will be
available by 08 July 2015.
