30 January 2015
AGE Project No. 14-3154
was not detected from any soil samples collected from borings A131 through AB21 using
a PID, beyond background values. During boring advancement field PID readings did
not detect organic vapors above 0 parts per million volume (ppmv), with the exception of
the five-foot sample at boring location AB1 8-5 (0.5 ppmv).
ANALYTICAL FINDINGS OF SOIL SAMPLES
Constituents of concern were not detected at or above laboratory reporting limits in any
of the analyzed soil samples collected from the borings. Laboratory analytical results
are included in Appendix B. A total of twenty (20) soil samples were analyzed from
borings AB1 through AB7 for TPH-d/o. A total of fourteen (14) soil samples were
analyzed from borings A138 through AB21 for TPH-g/d/o. Target analytes for semi-
volatile organic compounds quantified as fuel oil, were not detected in any of the soil
samples collected during the December 2014 investigation. Fourteen soil samples were
analyzed for CAM 17 metals. Analytical results for the CAM 17 analysis detected
concentrations of arsenic as high as 2.4 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg), chromium as
high as 7.5 mg/kg, cobalt as high as 11 mg/kg, copper as high as 21 mg/kg, lead as
high 6.4 mg/kg, nickel as high as 12 mg/kg, vanadium as high as 36 mg/kg and zinc as
high as 78 mg/kg from all soil samples. Additional analytes of concern were non-detect.
ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUNDWATER SAMPLES
A total of five (5) groundwater samples were collected from borings AB1 through AB7
and four (4) from collected from borings AB8 through AB16 and submitted for analysis
for the constituents for fuel oils (diesel range compounds) and were non-detect for fuel
range hydrocarbons. Five groundwater samples were additionally analyzed from
borings AB1 through A137 for fuel oils (diesel range compounds) and were non-detect
for fuel range hydrocarbons. Four groundwater samples were collected from borings
AB8 through AB16 and submitted for analysis for the constituents for CAM 17 metals.
Analytical results for the CAM 17 analysis detected concentrations of barium as high as
0.27 milligrams per liter (mg/L), chromium as high as 0.014 mg/L, copper as high as
0.018 mg/L, nickel as high as 0.018 mg/L, vanadium as high as 0.073 mg/L and zinc as
high as 0.049 mg/L from all grab groundwater samples. Target analytes for volatile
organic compounds were not detected in any of the groundwater samples collected
during the December 2014 investigation. Additional analytes of concern were non-
detect.
SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION SUMMARY/CONCLUSIONS
The results of the December 2014 assessment with soil and groundwater sampling are
as follows:
Advanced GeoEnvironmental Inc.
