This report is an addendum to our office's soil
suitability study dated August 24, 1998,Job Number 59789. This report presents the results of our
testing.
The subject property consists of an irregular shaped 74 acre parcel located on Quashnick Rd.,
Morada,California. It is proposed to divide the property into 57, 1 acre single family house lots with
access streets (see the Location Map, Plate No. 1, derived from the Tentative Subdivision Map
prepared by Cella Barr Associates). There is one existing home site on the property which will
remain as lot 10. The home site consists of a house and storage shed.
As indicated in our soil suitability study, the upper 6 to 10 feet of soil encountered in the test
holes uniformly consisted of a stiff clay which has poor percolation characteristics. The surface clay
soils were generally underlain by alternating strata of clay, sandy clay, and clayey sand, all of which
also had poor percolation characteristics. However, in several of the test holes excavated at the time
of our original study, small stratums of sand were encountered but they were of limited thickness and
not consistent. These small stratums of sand were encountered and are the soils in which we ran our
shallow percolation tests.
A shallow percolation test was performed on each of the parcels which failed to pass a
shallow percolation test in our initial field study. The tests were performed in various locations on
the lot. For approximate locations of the tests see the Location Map. Tests were performed
according to San Joaquin County criteria. Tests were done in 4.0-inch diameter test holes excavated
to a depth of 3 feet. Two inches of gravel was placed in the bottom of each test hole. A 2.0-inch
