Description of Applicant's Operation <br /> Golden Gate Fresh Foods, Inc. is applying for a UIC permit to construct a Class V <br /> injection well for the disposal of pretreated process waste water generated by the <br /> onsite meat processing plant and extracted groundwater. The injection site is lo- <br /> cated along North Highway 99 Frontage Road, Lodi, California (between <br /> Woodbridge Road & Clarksdale Road) in San Joaquin County. In addition, the ap- <br /> plicant requests termination of their existing Class I permit for injection at the same <br /> site as geologic conditions at the site did not permit them to operate their injection <br /> well as a Class I facility. <br /> The injection facility will operate for a period of ten years. <br /> & Background Information <br /> Goehring Meat Inc. (GMI) and successor companies Newco Aquisitions and Victor <br /> Fine Foods have manufactured various meat products (e.g. bacon, ham, and sausage) <br /> at the site since 1966. Processed waste water with a high total dissolved solids (TDS) <br /> content was discharged to on-site, unlined surface impoundments (regulated by <br /> Waste Discharge Requirement Resolution No. 65/66-110 adopted by the California <br /> 1 <br />
