WASTE DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS -8- <br /> GOLDEN GATE FRESH FOODS, INC. <br /> VICTOR FINE FOODS <br /> TREATMENT PLANT AND <br /> CLASS II SURFACE IMPOUNDMENT <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> 2. The discharge of solid or liquid waste or leachate to surface waters, <br /> surface water drainage courses, or ground water is prohibited. <br /> 3. The discharge of waste from the equalization/emergency storage basin <br /> to any point other than the pretreatment plant is prohibited. <br /> 4. The discharge of waste to ponded water from any source (except Class <br /> II surface impoundments) is prohibited. <br /> 5. The discharge of waste within 100 feet of surface waters is prohibited. <br /> 6. The discharge of wastes which have the potential to reduce or impair <br /> the integrity of containment structures or which, if commingled with <br /> other wastes in the unit, could produce violent reaction, heat or <br /> pressure, fire or explosion, toxic by-products, or reaction products <br /> which in turn: <br /> a. require a higher level of containment than provided by the unit, <br /> b. are 'restricted hazardous wastes' , or <br /> c. impair the integrity of containment structures is prohibited. <br /> B. Limitations• <br /> 1. The discharge of pretreatment effluent in excess of the following limits <br /> is prohibited: <br /> 30-Day <br /> Constituents Units Daily Maximum Average <br /> BOD, mg/l 15.0 7.5 <br /> Total Suspended Solids mg/l 10.0 5.0 <br /> 2. The pretreatment effluent shall not have a pH less than 6.5 or greater <br /> than 8.5. <br /> 3. The monthly average daily production wastewater flow measured prior to <br /> the EESB, shall not exceed 0.13 million gallons. <br /> 4. Ground water shall be pumped to optimize ground water cleanup. The <br /> optimal pumping rate may be reduced to 100,000 gpd to comply with <br /> Discharge Specification B. 14. The 100,000 gpd rate may be revised after <br /> completion and Board approval of the Final Cleanup Plan. <br />
