In 1972
a comprehensive well construction ordinance and standards were
adapted to insure the protection of this water supply.
In order to protect the integrity of this resource we feel that the
following issues should be addressed:
1. Environmental Health requests that the designated
enforcement agency (EPA) identify the individual assigned
to this project for any questions or referrals regarding
the on going monitoring and operation of this project.
2 . Environmental Health requests copies of all monitoring
4A6 c reports outlined in the permit conditions.
3 . The project is scheduled for a ten year permit. Public
agencies should be allowed to review the operating
history of this project before the permit is renewed.
4 . The oil and gas exploration wells identified in the fact
sheet were reported to be "properly plugged. " The term
"plugged" does not adequately describe how these wells
were sealed or destroyed. The Environmental Health
Division requests additional information and
documentation regarding these activities. Information
brought to our attention indicates that a 1950 foot well
was drilled in 1905 near Turner Rd. and Highway 99,
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
