4. Injection Pressure Modification
The injection pressure may be modified from that listed above if
a hydraulic fracture gradient test (i. e. , step rate test or
equivalent) indicates the. formation . frapture gradient is. other.
than that calculated pursuant to 40 CFR §147.253 .
5. Additional Injection Limitation
Injection between the outermost casing protecting underground
sources of drinking water and the well bore is prohibited.
6. Injection Rate
The injection rate shall not exceed 195 gpm at any time.
7 . Annulus Measurements
The annulus between the tubing and the long string casing shall
be filled with treated fresh water to .prevent corrosion and/or.
bacterial growth. A minimum surface annular pressure of 100 psig
shall be maintained at all times.
The permittee shall notify the Director in accordance with Part
I, Section E, Item 12 (d) of this permit when a change in the to-
tal annular fluid volume exceeds two (2) gallons at Standard Tem-
perature and Pressure (STP) . A volume adjustment in the annulus
is considered a physical alteration and is subject to the report-
ing requirements of Part I, Section E, Item 12 (a) . The total an-
nular fluid volume range and the minimum annular pressure must be
maintained unless a demonstration for suitable alternate values
is submitted by the permittee and has been approved, in writing,
by the Director.
C. MONITORING REQUIREMENTS
1. Sampling and Analytical Methods[§144 .51(j ) (1) and
§144 . 52 (a) (5) ]
Samples and measurements taken for the purpose of monitoring
shall be representative of the monitored activity. The method
used to obtain a representative sample of the fluid to be
analyzed and the procedure for analysis of the sample are as fol-
lows:
(a) Grab samples shall be collected at the sampling valve
at the wellhead and used for laboratory analysis for
physical and chemical characteristics.
(b) Temperature, annular pressure, and injection pressure
shall be measured at the wellhead.
14
