WASTE DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS -8- <br /> GOLDEN GATE FRESH FOODS, INC. <br /> VICTOR FINE FOODS <br /> TREATMENT PLANT AND <br /> CLASS II SURFACE IMPOUNDMENT <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> 6. The discharge of wastes which have the potential to reduce or impair <br /> the integrity of containment structures or which, if commingled with <br /> other wastes in the unit, could produce violent reaction, heat or <br /> pressure, fire or explosion, toxic by-products, or reaction products <br /> which in turn: <br /> a. require a higher level of containment than provided by the unit, <br /> b. are 'restricted hazardous wastes' , or <br /> c. impair the integrity of containment structures is prohibited. <br /> B. Limitations: <br /> 1. The discharge of pretreatment effluent in excess of the following limits <br /> is prohibited: <br /> Constituents Units Daily Maximum <br /> BODS mg/l 5.0 <br /> lbs/day <br /> Total Suspended Solids mg/l 5.0 <br /> lbs/day <br /> 2. The pretreatment effluent shall not have a pH less than 6.5 or greater <br /> than 8.5. <br /> 3. The monthly average daily production wastewater flow measured prior to <br /> the EESB, shall not exceed 0. 11 million gallons. <br /> 4. The pretreatment effluent shall not limit in anyway the amount of <br /> polluted ground water extracted or disposed of to the EPA permitted <br /> injection well . <br /> C. Discharge Specifications: <br /> General Specifications <br /> 1 . Neither the treatment nor the disposal shall cause a pollution or <br /> nuisance as defined by the California Water Code, Section 13050. In <br /> the event of a pollution or nuisance the Discharger shall take all <br /> responsible steps to minimize or correct any adverse impacts on the <br /> environment resulting from noncompliance with these requirements or the <br /> EPA UIC permit. <br />
