AX RMC LONESTARANAV
6601 Koll Center Parkway
P.O. Box 5252
Pleasanton, CA 94566
(415) 426-8787
GROUNDWATER MONITORING PLAN
RMC LONESTAR
KERLINGER AGGREGATE PLANT UNCLASSIFIED UNIT
30350 SOUTH TRACY BLVD.
TRACY, CALIFORNIA
INTRODUCTION
RMC Lonestar maintains an aggregate mining operation at
30350 South Tracy boulevard Tracy. RMC Lonestar has applied
for and received Waste Discharge requirements for an
unclassified unit at this location. These requirements
necessitate the installation and operation of a ground water
quality monitoring system at the disposal site. The following
work plan sets forth the location, method of installation and
sampling procedure for these wells.
SCOPE OF WORK:
1) MONITOR WELL INSTALLATION
Three monitor wells will be installed at the Unclassified
Unit to determine the ground water gradient and to obtain
ground water samples for chemical analysis . The approximate
locations of these proposed wells are shown on Figure 1 . The
depth to ground water at this site is believed to be at about
ninety five ( 95) feet. The actual depth of each well will be
determined at the time of drilling based on the depth of
encountered ground water. All wells will be extended at least
twenty five ( 25) feet beyond the depth of first ground water.
All wells will be advanced using a Becker, twin-walled
percussion, pneumatic drilling rig. This type of rig has
been found to be best suited for the gravel and cobble rich
soil found in this area. During the drilling of the monitor
wells soil types encountered in the drill cuttings will be
logged using the USC system of soil classification.
Typical well construction is shown on Figure 2 . All
wells will be constructed of three 4) inch diameter, schedule
40 , PVC blank casing and 0 . 02 slot screens. Typically, five
