The
former Vernalis Pump Station site consists of two properties: Bellini, the northern triangular
portion (formerly Roberts) and the southern Arcos property. The former Vernalis Pump
Station was previously owned and operated by predecessors of Chevron as part of the
historical Old Valley Pipeline (OVP) system.
Generally, petroleum affected soil and groundwater conditions have been delineated on the
Arcos and Bellini properties except for groundwater offsite and downgradient on the nearby
Bogetti property, east of Highway 33 and the railroad tracks. Additional groundwater
investigations are needed to delineate the extent of affected groundwater on the Bogetti
property.
For future investigations and reporting purposes, SAIC is requesting that the Bogetti site be
recognized as a separate parcel. The Arcos and Bellini properties will continue to be
referenced as part of the former Vernalis Pump Station site.
Regional Water Board staff concurs with the plan to investigate the Bogetti property and the
former Vernalis Pump Station site as separate parcels.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact Dean Hubbard at (559) 445-5179.
f r
SHELTON R.
