k" KLEINFELDER
SOH, ASSESSMENT WORK PLAN
JOE BRYSON HEATING
907 SOUTH WH,SON WAY
STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA
24-220222-A00
December 23, 1992 D E C 2 8 1992
INTRODUCTION y w -NTAL HEALTH
PttiMIT/SERVICES
The site is located at 907 South Wilson Way in Stockton, California. In 1991, two
underground gasoline storage tanks were removed from a common excavation at the facility.
Due to allegations regarding the integrity of the tank removal contractor and the lack of
adequate notification to SJCEHD of the removal, the results of the verification samples were
not accepted by SJCEHD. To consider site closure, SJCEHD is requiring additional
verification sampling. SJCEHD requested a single boring be advanced through the backfilled
excavation.
Kleinfelder has been retained by Joe Bryson Heating and Air Conditioning to implement the
scope of work requested by SJCEHD.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
Task 1 - Drilling and Sampling of One Boring
One boring will be drilled near the center of the previous excavation. The boring will be
drilled to a depth of approximately 35 feet. Kleinfelder assumes that the original excavation
depth was less than 35 feet. Kleinfelder assumes that the original excavation depth was less
than 35 feet. The soil boring will be advanced using a truck-mounted drill rig equipped with
6-inch hollow stem augers. The boring will be drilled, logged, and sampled following the
protocol described in Attachment A, Sections A-2.1 through A-2.4, and closed as described in
Section A-2.7.
Task 2 - Laboratory Analysis
Two soil samples from the boring will be selected for laboratory analysis. The samples will be
selected based on field observations, qualitative screening results, and the objectives of the
assessment. Both soil samples will be submitted to a laboratory certified by the State of
California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) for the proposed analyses. The
samples will be analyzed for:
► Purgeable total petroleum hydrocarbons (EPA Method 8015M/5030)
► Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEX) (EPA Method 8020)
► Total lead (EPA Method 7420)
► Ethylene dibromide (EDB) (EPA Method 8010)
FWP2-92-26 Page 1 of 3 24-220222-A00
Copyright 1992 Kleinfelder, Inc.
