Four gallons of oil released from UPRR locomotive BAKER <br /> UP726. Release occurred at Stockton yard. Called UPRR hotline at <br /> 888-877-7267 and confirmed information in spill report. No waterways or storm <br /> drains were impacted. Spill stayed on property. Patriot Environmental en route to <br /> clean-up release with an ETA of 8:00 am. Spill occurred at 8th Street yard and <br /> facility is a permit holder. <br /> Front counter created a complaint for this spill. Verified GIS in EC. Completed <br /> complaint information. Generated Prop 65. Put prop 65 on Elena Manzo's (Lead <br /> Sr. REHS) desk for review. <br /> Updated spill report received. Spill is approximately 50 gallons and spread over a <br /> distance of 1000 feet of track. Called Mike Algots of UPRR at 916-580-9999 to let <br /> him know that I was headed out to the spill. <br /> Left for site at 9:50 am with Fred Ernest(EHS). Arrived on site at 10:00 am. Met <br /> with Derek Smith of Patriot Environmental. Guzzler and clean-up equipment will <br /> not arrive until 12:00 pm. Clean-up will be completed today. Ballast will not be <br /> backfilled. Spill area covered an approximate area of 1 x 1 feet along the tracks <br /> for approximately 1000 feet. Spill located on eastern side of tracks. Returned to <br /> office. <br /> Completed photo log, ERR and site map. <br /> Left office at 3:45 pm to verify clean-up. Arrived on site. Clean-up is complete. <br /> allast was excavated along the tracks up to six inches deep in the most impacted <br /> areas. Unable to go along the entire impacted area due to trains moving along the <br /> tracks. Approximately 15 yards of oily debris was generated from the clean-up. <br /> Waste will remain on site pending analytical. Returned to the office. <br /> Wrote OIR.
