We find that the reports are complete as shown on the attached Monitoring Report
Compliance Checklist. In summary, the concentrations of constituents of concern are fluctuating
slightly. Comparison of chloride in MW-1RD to model shows that concentrations are on track with
predicted levels.
We note your request to revise Monitoring and Reporting Program Order No. 96-176 reduce semi-
annual monitoring to annual monitoring. Because COCs are greater than background concentrations and
some wells are showing increasing trends in the data, we maintain that semi-annual monitoring continue,
at a minimum. We agree that annual reporting may be applicable to this site as long as a comprehensive
evaluation of the data is completed. The MRP must be revised in order to make this change. Please
continue semiannual monitoring according to WDRs 96-176.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (916) 255-3137 or schwabk@rb5s.swrcb.ca.gov.
'd -
KIM A.
