The probe will provide information that will <br /> allow these wells to be installed at optimal locations for <br /> evaluation of subsurface conditions. <br /> Soil Borings and Sampling <br /> Prior to conducting work at the site, appropriate permits will be <br /> acquired from the San Joaquin Local Health District. Applied <br /> geoSystems will contact Underground Services Alert to help locate <br /> public utility lines at the prior to commencement of drilling. <br /> Soil borings will be drilled using conventional hollow-stem auger <br /> drilling methods. Auger flights and sampling equipment will be <br /> steam-cleaned before use to minimize the possibility of <br /> contamination among borings. Drilling will be performed under <br /> the guidance of a field geologist, and the earth materials in the <br /> borings will be logged as drilled. The borings will be used to <br /> construct ground-water monitoring wells and will be drilled to <br /> approximately 15 feet below the uppermost zone of saturation. <br /> 11 <br /> Applied GeoSystems <br />
