L & M OPERABLE UNIT-THIRD QUARTER 2014 SITE STATUS, REMEDIAL SUMMARY,
AND GROUNDWATER MONITORING REPORT
Groundwater Monitoring and Sampling
October 31, 2014
Analyte Sample # Sample # o Difference
MW-64 QCDUP-5
TPHg (mg/L) 3.1 2.7 +/- 13.8%
TPHd (mg/L 1.4 1.4 Oho
TPHo (mg/L 0.21 0.18 +/- 15.47o
Benzene 0.00056 0.00064 +/- 13.3170
(mg/L)
MTBE (mg/L 0.013 0.016 +/- 20.77.
TBA (mg/L 0.018 0.02 +/- 10.570
The calculated RPD between sample MW-64 and QCDUP-5 were within the acceptable
limit (-200), with the exception of MTBE which was at 20.7%. The concentration values
reported for MW-64 during 3Q14 were within historical range; thus, the data can be
considered representative.
2.5.2.5 General Laboratory Notes
The laboratory validation issues are consistent with the C-Zone quality assurance and
quality control. Each set of issues corresponds directly with the denoted report.
Laboratory reports are included in Appendix E.
Laboratory Validation, report number 88688:
There was no observed validation issues with C-Zone monitoring wells.
2.6 THIRD QUARTER 2014 D-ZONE GROUNDWATER RESULTS
2.6.1 D-Zone Groundwater Gradient Data
D-Zone groundwater elevations at the Site ranged from 6.88 ft below MSL (MW-55) to
6.36 ft below MSL (MW-72; Table 3, Table 4, and Figure 24). Groundwater gradient
during 3Q14 ranged from the north-northwest towards MW-55 and to the south-
southwest from MW-72 with approximate hydraulic gradients of 0.001 ft/ft and 0.002
ft/ft, respectively (Figure 24). Historic groundwater flow direction and gradient data is
summarized on Table 6. Vertical gradient data is summarized on Table 7.
2.6.2 D-Zone Groundwater Analytical Data
During 3Q14, groundwater samples were collected from eight D-Zone wells.
Groundwater analytical results are summarized below and included on Table 3. TPHg,
TPHd, TPHo, benzene, MTBE, and TBA isoconcentration contour maps are included as
Figure 25 through Figure 30, respectively. The certified laboratory analytical reports
including laboratory validation sheets are included in Appendix E.
5ta ntec 2.11
