L & M OPERABLE UNIT-THIRD QUARTER 2014 SITE STATUS, REMEDIAL SUMMARY,
AND GROUNDWATER MONITORING REPORT
Soil Vapor Sampling
October 31, 2014
Analyte Sample # Sample # o Difference
UPSV-3 UPSV-3D
TPH ppmV) 5.6 5.9 5.2 %
Methane ppmV 380,000 380,000 0%
The trip blank did not contain analytes at or above laboratory reporting limits.
4.2.5 Conclusions
TPHg concentrations increased in UPSV wells UPSV-3 and UPSV-3D. With the exception
of benzene in UPSV-6, APSV-1, APSV-6, APSV-9, and APSV-10 this quarter, BTEX,
naphthalene and the fuel oxygenates (MTBE, DIPE, ELBE, TBA, and TAME) have not been
detected at or above laboratory MRLs since the fourth quarter of 2008 in APSV and
UPSV wells. Methane has historically been reported sporadically in both APSV and UPSV
wells.
Although there were increases in benzene concentrations in apartment complex wells
APSV-9 and APSV-10, Stantec does not need to implement SVE system contingency for
restarting the system. Apartment soil vapor wells designated for monitoring the
protection of apartment residents to their respective building remain below health
protective screening levels.
5ta ntec 4.3
