The investigation is being conducted on
behalf of Chevron Environmental Management Company(CEMC).
The proposed step-out investigation is a continuation of fieldwork described in the SAIC Revised
Soil and Groundwater Investigation Work Plan (SAIC 2011; see attached), which was approved
by the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board(RWQCB) in a letter dated
December 8, 2011 (see attached). SAIC advanced the originally proposed borings (SBA, SB-2,
and SB-3 on the attached figure) in February and March 2012, but failed to achieve lateral
delineation of affected soil and groundwater.
The soil and groundwater investigation fieldwork has been tentatively scheduled for the week of
September 10, 2012. SAIC will confirm field dates with SJCEHD at least 48-hours prior to the
initiation of fieldwork. Please contact me by phone(510-825-8519) or e-mail
(gehlkes@saic.com), if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
SAIC Energy, Environment & Infrastructure, LLC
"_ -14/k
Sean Gehlke
Project Geologist
Enclosures:
Well Permit Application &LCD Form Site Access Agreement
MFR form SAIC Work Plan dated November 28, 2011
Location Map RWQCB Letter dated December 8, 2011
Payment Receipt in the amount of$500.00
SAIC Energy,Environment&Infrastructure,LLC
1000 Broadway I Suite#675 1 Oakland, CA 946071 1 tel: (510)466-7100 1 fax: (510)446-7919 1 saic.com\eeandi
