have any questions. Thanks........................Gino
From: Michael Carroll [mailto:mcarroll@sjgov.org]
Sent: Tuesday, June 03, 2008 11:43 AM
To: Robert McClellon [EH]
Cc: michelle seymour; Desi Reno; Isaak, Nick; Yekta, Gino
Subject: Possible location of natural gas exploratory wells at North County and Harney Lane
Landfills
Good morning Robert(and Gino),
Attached is a Word document showing the locations at our North County and closed Harney Lane
Landfills that the folks at Maverick Drilling thought might be likely spots for exploratory natural gas
wells. As I mentioned, the County Hospital has a production well on their grounds, with great benefit to
them. An exploration well is the first step. If useable natural gas is discovered, then that well will be
enlarged into a production well.
These locations should not interfere with any activity at the landfills. At North County, the well
would be out side of the landfill operational area. At Harney Lane, the closure cap will not be disturbed. I
expect that the presence of a production well would require the revision of the RDSI for
Harney Lane. Please let me know if anything more is needed.
Nick Isaacs of San Joaquin County Facilities Management is our contact with Maverick, and is
reviewing the proposed agreement to lease exploration rights. If a production well is feasible,
then he will also handle the contract for production.
Please call with any questions, and I will appraise you as things develop.
Regards,
Mike Carroll
W.
