D. The Contractor shall schedule consecutive required inspections after the <br /> first inspection with EHD by providing minimum of 24-hours notice. <br /> E. Contractor shall notify the Engineer the scheduled inspection times with <br /> EHD. <br /> 3.03 DRILLING <br /> A. The boring locations of each well will be staked by the County. The <br /> proposed locations may be adjusted due to site conditions by the Engineer. <br /> B. Well depths may be changed in the field by the Engineer based on field <br /> conditions. <br /> C. Well bottoms are above groundwater table. Notify the Engineer if water is <br /> encountered during drilling. The Engineer will advise the Contractor as to <br /> whether drilling is to continue, or whether the boring shall be abandoned. <br /> D. Contractor shall select drilling methods. <br /> E. Drilling equipment shall be clean of previous environmental contamination. <br /> Equipment will be inspected by the Engineer for fluid leaks which could <br /> potentially mix with and contaminate site materials. Deficient equipment will <br /> be rejected, to be replaced by acceptable equipment at no additional cost to <br /> the County. <br /> F. Drilling muds or liquids shall not be used. <br /> G. The Contractor shall be responsible for any drilling augers, drill bits or <br /> drilling tools stuck or left in the bore hole. <br /> H. The Contractor shall maintain a drilling log for each well bore hole. The <br /> drilling log shall be legible and shall be submitted to the Engineer for review <br /> and acceptance after completion of the project. The minimum information <br /> required on the drilling logs is: <br /> • Drilling date, weather conditions and Company's name, Well No, and <br /> logger's name. <br /> • Description of drilling equipment and diameter of drilling auger. <br /> • Depth of refuse. <br /> • Description of cuttings (i.e., type of soil or refuse, state of decay, relative <br /> moisture content, unusual odors, date of waste, if newspaper or <br /> Construction Specifications San Joaquin County <br /> Dual LFG Extraction Wells Public Works Department <br /> Harney Lane Sanitary Landfill Page 6 of 13 Solid Waste Division <br /> Revised 11-18-09 <br />
