PRELIMINARY SITE INVESTIGATION REPORT <br />Tradeway Chevrolet <br />1460 East Yosemite Avenue, Manteca, California <br />1.0. INTRODUCTION <br />Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has prepared this Preliminary Site Investigation Report <br />for the property located at 1460 East Yosemite Avenue, Manteca, California (Figure 1). This report <br />presents the results of the shallow subsurface soil and ground water investigation performed at the <br />site. <br />The purpose of this investigation is to assess the potential presence of petroleum hydrocarbon <br />compound impacts to soil and/or ground water related to current and former site operations. Areas <br />of potential environmental concern to be investigated included in -ground hydraulic lifts, an <br />abandoned hydraulic lift, a former gasoline underground storage tank (UST) location, a former waste <br />oil UST location, and select locations of surficial petroleum hydrocarbon staining. former waste oil <br />above ground storage tank (AST) location. <br />2.0. BACKGROUND <br />The site is located in the eastern portion of Manteca, California, on the southwest corner of the <br />intersection of East Yosemite Avenue and Highway 99. (Figure 1). <br />2.1. SITE DESCRIPTION <br />The site is situated on an approximately 5.5 -acre parcel and is currently occupied by Tradeway <br />Chevrolet automobile dealership and Tradeway Auto Body shop. The auto body shop is located <br />south of the automobile dealership (Figure 2). The dealership building is composed of an automobile <br />service area, parts warehouse, business offices, and a showroom. The auto body shop building <br />consists of an automobile service area, paint booths, and business offices. In addition, the auto body <br />shop building contains an automobile wash -down and detailing area that is operated by Tradeway <br />Chevrolet. <br />2.2. UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL <br />It is AGE's understanding that two USTs were formerly located at the site immediately south of the <br />Tradeway Chevrolet service area (Figure 2). An approximately 550 -gallon capacity gasoline UST <br />was removed from the site in December 1986. In October 1998, an approximately 500 -gallon <br />capacity waste oil UST was removed from the site. During the removal of USTs, no petroleum <br />hydrocarbon discoloration or odor were reported by the San Joaquin County Public Health Services - <br />Advanced GcoEnvironmental, Inc. <br />
