Xx July 1999
AGE -NC Project No. 99-0557
10.5 feet. No hydrocarbon odor and/or discoloration was apparent for soil samples collected from
soil boring P-1 through P-5, and P-7 through P-17.
Ground water was encountered in the soil probe borings between 10.5 and 13.5 feet bsg.
5.2. SOIL ANALYTICAL RESULTS
A total of 19 discrete soil samples were collected from 17 soil probe borings and analyzed for select
petroleum hydrocarbon constituents, as discussed in Section 4.2. A summary of soil sample
analytical results are present in Table 1.The laboratory analytical report is presented in Appendix C.
Soil sample analytical results are detailed below.
5.2.1. Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, and Total Xylenes
There were no reported detections of BTEX constituents in any of the soil samples analyzed
(Table 1).
5.2.2. Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons
The only reported detections of TPH were in the soil sample collected from soil probe boring P-6
(Table 1). TPH-g, TPH-d, and TPH-mo were reported in the soil sample collected at 10.5 feet bsg
from probe boring P-6' at concentrations of 1.4 mg/kg, 13,000 mg/kg, and 16,000 mg/kg,
respectively. However, the analytical laboratory reported that the chromatogram for the detection
of gasoline -range (C6 -C12) and diesel -range (C10 - C23) hydrocarbons did not match the gasoline
and diesel standards, respectively. There were no reported detections of TPH-g, TPH-d, or TPH-mo
for soil samples collected from probe borings P-1 through P-5, or P-7 through P-17.
5.2.3. Methyl Tertiary -Butyl Ether
Soil samples for MTBE analysis were collected from soil probe boring P-17 at depths of 10.5 and
30.5 feet bsg. There were no reported detections of MTBE in the two soil samples analyzed from
the former gasoline UST location (Table 1).
Advanced CeoEnvironmental, Inc.
