northeastern portion included a furniture manufacturer/upholstering shop and a packed fruit and
sugar storage warehouse. The southeast corner of Parcel 4 was vacant.
In 1957 and 1963, the railroad spur identified in 1917 still appears to be present in the
northeast corner of Parcel 24. In Parcel 24, the buildings used by the wholesale liquor and beer
depot are present in the southern half and the small building (restaurant) is present in the
northwest corner. In Parcel 3, buildings are still present in the northern half. In 1957, residential
was present in the southern half, having been removed by 1963. The warehouse is present in the
northeast corner of Parcel 4 with residential in the western one-half and vacant land in the
southeastern one-quarter.
By 1970, a railroad spur enters at the northwestern portion of Parcel 24, crossing the centers
of Parcels 3 and 4, in a north-south direction. Branching off of this rail spur, there are two (2)
additional east-west oriented minor spurs in the northern portion of Parcel 24. The previous spur
located in the northeast corner of Parcel 24 is not noticeable; these tracks appear to have been
removed. Washington Street was realigned to cross the southern half of Parcel 4. The wholesale
liquor and beer depot buildings in the center portion of Parcel 24 have been removed and are
replaced by rail tracks. The small building in the northwest corner (restaurant) has been removed.
The warehouse in the southwest corner remains. Two (2) warehouse buildings and a residential
building are present in the northern half of Parcel 3; the southern half is vacant. At this time, the
warehouse was still located within the northeastern corner of Parcel 4, while the northwestern
corner remained residential. Vacant land still dominated the remainder of the parcel.
In 1972, the southwestern portion of Parcel 24 was occupied by a storage yard; with the
northwest quarter vacant. Truck parking was indicated to the immediate east of the storage area.
The lumberyard occupied nearly the entire area of Parcel 3 except for a residential building in the
northeastern corner and vacant lots in the southeastern portion. The two (2) warehouse buildings
and residential building in the northern half of Parcel 3 are present. A building and hardware
supply store and warehouse occupied the northeast corner of Parcel 4 (former furniture
manufacturer/upholstering shop and a packed fruit and sugar storage warehouse) with two (2)
buildings (probably residential) in the northwestern portion of the site; the remainder of site was
vacant.
In 1974, the rail spur, having a north-south orientation, through the middle of the parcel, is
still present. Two (2) minor rail spurs are visible in the northern half of Parcel 24. A building
(warehouse) is present on the southwestern portion of the Parcel, with a small structure at the
northwest corner of the Parcel. The two (2) warehouse buildings and residential building located
within the northern half of Parcel 3 are still present with the remaining portions used for outside
storage and parking. The warehouse in Parcel 4 is still present, with the remaining portion
vacant.
In 1981, the rail spur through the middle of the parcels (having a north-south orientation) and
two (2) rail spurs in the northern half of Parcel 24 are present. One (1) small structure is present
on the western half of Parcel 24. On Parcel 3, three (3) buildings are present on the eastern one-
half, and two (2) warehouse buildings with parking and outside storage positioned on the western
half; with residential in the southwest corner. A commercial building is present in the
northeastern corner of Parcel 4.
By 1983 and through 1987, the location of the railroad spurs in Parcels 24, 3 and 4 are
Golden State Environmental, Inc. - 3 - Los Angeles, San Diego and Houston
Revised Work Plan — Soil and GW Characterization July 2006
