AdvancedGeo
Environr-nental
05Mg.
01 August 2018
AGE Project No. 12-2169
o Polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in accordance with EPA
Method 8270.
Laboratory reports of soil analysis, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality
control (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented
in a report of findings and recommendations.
3.3. EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION/WASTE MANAGEMENT
All sampling tools will be thoroughly rinsed with clean water after being washed with a
solution of Alconox. All down-hole drilling equipment will be pressure washed prior to
starting each boring. Rinseate and soil cuttings generated during drilling and groundwater
sampling activities will be containerized in properly labeled, Department of Transportation
(DOT)-approved 55-gallon drums and stored on-site in an area lacking public access.
Disposal alternatives will be evaluated based on the results of soil analysis.
3.4. BORING ABANDONMENT
The soil boring will be permanently sealed to prevent vertical migration of potential
contaminants. The soil boring shall be abandoned by backfilling with Portland type II
cement grout from the total depth to surface grade. Any water displaced during the
grouting process will be routed and contained into a 55-gallon drum. The top three to six
inches of the boring abandonment will be completed flush to surface grade with concrete.
The EHD will be notified for grout inspection at least 48 hours prior to conducting grouting
procedures.
3.5. PREPARATION OF REPORT OF FINDINGS
A report documenting the soil boring and collection of soil samples will be prepared
following performance of field work and receipt of all applicable data. Conclusions and
recommendations will also be included, if applicable in the report. The report will be in a
format acceptable to the RWQCB and reviewed and signed by a California Professional
Geologist.
