01 October 2013
AGE Project No. 99-0559
One or more benzene, toluene, ethyl-benzene, and total xylenes (BTEX)
compounds were detected in samples collected from wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-3,
MW-4, MW-5A and MW-6A at maximum concentrations of 1,200 pg/I (benzene),
8.5 pg/I (toluene), 160 pg/I (ethyl-benzene) 1,220 pg/I (total xylenes) in well MW-2.
The fuel additive methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE) and tertiary butyl ether (TBA)
were reported in wells MW-2, MW-3, MW-4, and MW-5A at maximum
concentrations of 4,000 pg/I MTBE (MW-4) and 5,800 pg/I TBA (MW-4).
Ethyl tertiary butyl ether (ETBE) was detected in groundwater samples collected
from wells MW-2, MW-3, MW-4, and MW-5A at a maximum concentration of 18 pg/I
in well MW-5A.
Tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME) was detected in groundwater samples collected
from wells MW-2 and MW-4 at a maximum concentration of 5.6 pg/I in well MW-4.
1,2-Dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) was detected in groundwater samples collected from
wells MW-2 and MW-3 at a maximum concentration of 21 pg/I in well MW-2.
HU3 and HU4:
Depths to groundwater ranged from 54.70 feet btoc (MW-5B) to 55.50 feet btoc
(MW-6B). Groundwater elevations ranged between 30.02 feet (MW-7B) and 30.10
feet (MW-6B) below NAVD88 indicating an average decrease of 5.61 feet since the
previous monitoring event in December 2012.
Groundwater was inferred to be flowing toward the south-southeast at a gradient of
0.001 ft/ft (Figure 4).
TPH-g were detected in groundwater samples collected from wells MW-5B, MW-6B,
and MW-7B at a maximum concentration of 4,000 pg/I (MW-7B).
BTEX compounds were detected in samples collected from wells MW-5B, MW-6B
and MW-7B at maximum concentrations in well MW-7B of 280 pg/I (benzene),
700 pg/I (toluene), 140 pg/I (ethyl-benzene) and 570 pg/I (total xylenes).
MTBE was detected in samples collected from MW-5B, MW-6B and MW-7B at a
maximum concentration of 160 pg/I (MW-5B); ETBE was detected in samples
collected from MW-5B and MW-6B at a maximum concentration of 13 pg/I
(MW-5B); and 1,2-DCA was detected in the samples collected from well MW-7B at
a concentration of 6.7 pg/I.
Upper HU5/Lower HU5:
Depths to groundwater ranged from 54.80 feet btoc (MW-5C) to 55.59 feet btoc
,4thanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
