30 September 2013
AGE Project No. 99-0559
Total recoverable petroleum hydrocarbons (TRPH) by EPA Method 1664,
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) by EPA Method 624,
2.3. GROUNDWATER TREATMENT RESULTS
The pump-and-treat system was operational during the reporting period of 19 March 2013
to 21 June 2013; total flow (totalizer) recorded a totaled volume of 217,710 gallons of
discharged water.
2.4. RESULTS OF MONTHLY GROUNDWATER EXTRACTION SAMPLES
TPH-g, BTEX compounds, and MTBE were detected in the influent samples from the
active extraction. Analytical results of pump-and-treat influent samples are summarized in
Table 1. The following is a summary of the detected influent concentrations:
April 2013: TPH-g, BTEX, and MTBE were detected in influent samples collected
from wells EW-1 through EW-4. TPH-g were detected at a maximum concentration
of 80,000 micrograms per liter (pg/I) at well EW-1; BTEX compounds were detected
at maximum concentrations of 4,300 pg/I benzene, 6,500 pg/I toluene, 2,200 pg/I
ethylbenzene and 8,900 pg/I xylenes (EW-1); and MTBE was detected at a
maximum concentration of 2,000 pg/I (EW-2).
May 2013: TPH-g, BTEX, and MTBE were detected in influent samples collected
from wells EW-1 through EW-4. TPH-g were detected at a maximum concentration
of 75,000 pg/I at well EW-1; BTEX compounds were detected at maximum
concentrations of 12,000 pg/I benzene, 17,000 pg/I toluene, 4,200 pg/I
ethylbenzene and 22,700 pg/I xylenes (EW-1); and MTBE was detected at a
maximum concentration of 7,800 pg/I (EW-2).
June 2013: TPH-g, BTEX, and MTBE were detected in influent samples collected
from wells EW-1 through EW-4. TPH-g were detected at a maximum concentration
of 140,000 pg/I at well EW-1; BTEX compounds were detected at maximum
concentrations of 9,400 pg/I benzene (EW-2), 13,000 pg/I toluene, 3,700 pg/I
ethylbenzene and 19,200 pg/I xylenes (EW-1); and MTBE was detected at a
maximum concentration of 6,800 pg/I (EW-2).
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
