Remediation Report Update - Third Quarter 2013 <br />WATERLOO FOOD & FUEL <br />3032 East Waterloo Road, Stockton, California <br />1.0. INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK <br />At the request of Mr. Onkaar Dhaliwal of Waterloo Food and Fuel, Advanced <br />GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has prepared this report for the site located at 3032 East <br />Waterloo Road, Stockton, California (site). <br />The report updates the procedures and results of the remediation of hydrocarbon-impacted <br />groundwater at the site between late June to late September 2013. <br />The location of the site is illustrated in Figure 1. The locations of structures, soil borings, <br />and monitoring wells at the site are depicted in Figure 2. The location of the groundwater <br />extraction, soil vapor extraction equipment and piping network are depicted in Figure 3. <br />Site background information is provided in Appendix A. Interim groundwater remediation <br />utilizing groundwater extraction techniques was initiated at the site on 20 May 2003, in <br />accordance with procedures outlined in the AGE-prepared Interim Remediation and Site <br />Assessment Work Plan, dated 25 January 2001. Interim soil vapor extraction was initiated <br />at the site on 06 December 2006 in accordance with procedures outlined in the AGE- <br />prepared Interim Soil Remediation and Additional Site Assessment Work Plan, dated 12 <br />November 2004. <br />2.0. GROUNDWATER EXTRACTION -TREATMENT REMEDIATION <br />Groundwater remediation system installation and operation was performed in accordance <br />with procedures approved by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br />(EHD) and the Central Valley - California Regional Water Qaulity Control Board. The <br />groundwater extraction system, consisting of the groundwater treatment unit (air-stripper <br />and vessels of granular activated carbon), compressors, pneumatic pumps and associated <br />piping, was installed in early 2003 and expanded in late 2008 (Figure 3). Between 21 June <br />and 25 September 2013, the remediation of impacted groundwaterwas conducted utilizing <br />an active air-stripper to remove and discharge hydrocarbons prior to granular activated <br />carbon treatment. <br />2.1. GROUNDWATER REMEDIATION SYSTEM <br />The groundwater treatment system is designed to operate at a maximum flow rate of <br />5 gallons per minute (GPM). Therefore, each of the active recovery wells (deep well EW-1, <br />EW-2 and EW-4, shallow well EW-5, EW-8 and deeper well EW-9) were used to extract <br />groundwater at a flow rate of approximately 1 GPM by extracting on an intermittent cycle. <br />The operation of the groundwater pumps allows for a hiatus when water falls below the <br />Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
