Site Assessment Work Plan
LARRY'S AUTO
308 North Grant Street, Stockton, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr. Charles Skobrak, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has
prepared this, Site Assessment Work Plan, for 308 North Grant Street, Stockton,
California (site). The work plan was prepared as required by the Central Valley Regional
Water Quality Board (CVRWQCB) by letter dating 19 April 2017, to evaluate shallow
soils near the northwestern tank pit areas of the site. Additionally, the work plan details
procedures for shallow soil sample collection in the southeastern portion of the site to
evaluate if a secondary source exists near well MW-5, where elevated hydrocarbon
dissolved hydrocarbon impact has been historically reported. A copy of the CVRWQCB
directive letter is included in Appendix A.
The location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1; a plan of the site is illustrated on Figure
2. Historical soil analytical data has been included as a reference as Table 1. This work
plan was prepared in accordance with the CVRWQCB guidelines for the investigation of
underground storage tank (UST) sites.
2.0. SCOPE OF WORK
In order to evaluate the site under the Low Threat Closure Policy, the CVRWQCB has
directed that shallow soil samples be collected near the former northwestern tank pit
(Figure 2). CVRWCB has also directed investigation of shallow soil near the former
waste oil tank pit area. Lastly, in an effort to explain elevated dissolved hydrocarbon
concentrations in downgradient well MW-5, the CVRWQCB has directed that shallow
soil samples be collected surrounding the wells location. The proposed scope of work
will include the following tasks:
Permitting and pre-field work activities;
Soil boring advancement and sample collection;
Report preparation.
Each of these tasks is described in greater detail below.
2.1. PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES
Applicable site assessment permits will be obtained from the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD). In addition, a health and safety plan will
be updated in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Guidance Manual for
Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health
