Commerce St. <br />Stockton, CA 95202 <br />Re: Request for Information Pursuant to Section 104 of <br />CERCLA related to the Equinoa Property, 4599 Manthey <br />Road, French Camp, California. <br />Dear Mr. Equinoa: <br />The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is seeking to <br />obtain certain information from you relating to the transport and <br />disposal of asbestos and asbestos-bearing wastes at the above <br />referenced site and at other sites in the vicinity of the former <br />Johns Manville plant in Stockton, California. Under the provi- <br />sions of Section 104(e) of the Comprehensive Environmental <br />Response, Compensation and Liability Act of 1980 (CERCLA), as <br />amended by the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act of <br />1986, 42 U.S.C. 9604(e), the EPA Administrator has authority to <br />require any person who has or may have information relevant to <br />the generation, transport or disposal of hazardous substances at <br />a facility to furnish such information. Pursuant to these <br />statutory provisions, you are hereby requested to provide the <br />following information: <br />1. Please provide the following information related to the <br />transport and/or disposal of asbestos wastes to the <br />above referenced site (the Equinoa Property). <br />Did C. G. Gall Trucking Company or its predecessor or <br />successor corporations transport and/or dispose of as- <br />bestos wastes at the Equinoa Property? If so, did C. <br />G. Gall Trucking select the disposal site or did the <br />generator of the asbestos wastes select the disposal <br />site? Did the owner of the Equinoa Property enter into <br />a contract with C.G. Gall Trucking for the disposal of <br />asbestos wastes? Did the owner of the Equinoa Property <br />enter into a contract with Johns Manville for the dis- <br />posal of asbestos wastes? <br />Please identify the source of the asbestos wastes, if <br />any, transported and disposed of at the Equinoa <br />Property.
