File No. 1677-1
23 April 1985
Since asbestos is now classified as a hazardous waste if any
construction were to take place on the site the asbestos would
have to be removed and transported to an approved hazardous waste
dump site. The costs involved in removal of the asbestos could
be extremely high.
By law we were required to notify local and state agencies of our
findings. Names of persons in the state and county agencies
contacted include Watson Gin, Regional Office of the Department
of Health Services; Peggy Harris, California Toxic Substance
Control Division; and Renaldo Crooks, County of San Joaquin
Health District. The location of the site has been relayed to
Mr. Crooks and a copy of this letter will be sent to his office.
We are sorry this site appears to be unsuitable for your project,
however we are available for investigation of an alternate site
at a later date.
Sincerely,
ANDERSON GEOTECHNICAL CONSULTANTS, INC.
60ic e' .:redimolv
Eric C.
