(AGE) for the Sierra Lumber property (Case #2) located at 375
Hazelton Avenue in Stockton (Site).
In the Work Plan, AGE proposes installing deep monitoring well MW-21 in the vicinity of previous borings
B11 and B12. This proposed well will be screened from 120 to 130 feet below ground surface (bgs). The
purpose of this well is to assess petroleum hydrocarbon impact to deep groundwater observed in samples
collected from borings B11 and B12 in 2016, and to provide continuing data in order to establish trends
and evaluate the stability of the plume. AGE proposes installing the well using hollow stem augers, with
soil sampling, for lithologic logging purposes only, every five (5) feet from 100 feet bgs to total depth.
Central Valley Water Board staff concurs with the scope of work as proposed in the Work Plan with the
following comments:
By 7 July 2017, please submit a Well Installation Report, detailing the installation activities,
In order to allow the cement sanitary seal to properly cure, please wait a minimum of 72 hour after
installation before developing the well.
Subsequent to installation and development, please incorporate this well into the groundwater
monitoring and sampling program at the Site. Please sample this well during second quarter 2017,
and include the data in the Groundwater Monitoring Report (GMR) due 30 July 2017.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding comments in this letter please call me at (916) 464-4615
or contact me by email at aian.buehler@waterboards.ca.gov.
-ULA
Alan M.
