The PM will inform the Regional Safety Coordinator of all HASP modifications, violations, injuries, <br />exposures, and near-miss situations. The PM responsibilities include: <br />Provide personnel time to read and understand the Site Health and Safety Plan (HASP) before <br />fieldwork. <br />Conduct project start-up health and safety briefmg for: Field personnel, the Site Supervisor, the <br />project team. <br />Check that each subcontractor is pre-approved and that each subcontractor's Site workers have <br />appropriate HAZWOPER Training Certificates. <br />Check that Site personnel, if required, have received Respiratory Protection Training, Fit testing, <br />and physician's approval to wear a respirator. <br />That hazards identified during any Site audits are corrected. If necessary for immediate hazards, <br />shut down field operations if hazards can not be corrected or the hazards present an immediate <br />threat to life and health. <br />2.4 Regional Safety Coordinator (RSC) <br />The Regional Safety Coordinator (RSC) is responsible for providing professional health and safety advice <br />and oversight management to the project. The RSC will review and provide support for concerns <br />regarding the health and safety of field personnel assigned to this project, including: <br />If requested by the Project Manager, approval of Routine HASP;, <br />Approval of all Non-Routine HASP; <br />Review of incident reports, inspections, and air monitoring results; <br />When required, the RSC will conduct a field audit of the Site to evaluate the adequacy of the <br />program and implement the necessary changes through the HASP. <br />2.5 Project Field Team <br />The Project Team includes technicians, engineers, scientists, geologists, and possibly subcontractors who <br />perform field activities. Each individual team member will be responsible for understanding and <br />personally complying with the HASP and Site health and safety requirements. Project Team members will <br />report health and safety violations to either the Site Supervisor or the SSHO. Health and safety <br />responsibilities, as discussed in this Plan, which are shared by all Site personnel include: <br />Complying with the requirements of the HASP. <br />Reporting unsafe acts or conditions <br />Retain copies at the Site of the following health and safety records: <br />Current HAZWOPER Training Certificate. <br />Respiratory Protection Training Certificate and current fit test record for potential respirator <br />users. <br />Physician's approval for hazardous-waste fieldwork and/or respirator use. <br />First-aid/CPR and bloodborne pathogens training certificate. <br />HASP Level III <br />Rev. 01 —June 11,2007 2-2
