Any upgrading to higher levels of protection may require additional personal sampling using National <br />Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) or Occupational Safety and Health Administration <br />(OSHA) methods for the collection and analysis of airborne contaminants. <br />Air monitoring equipment used on the Site should be calibrated with the following: <br />Calibration/Response Check <br />Types Frequency Gas Standard <br />PID Daily 100 ppm isobutylene in air <br />Field personnel, in conjunction with the Site Supervisor and SSHO, may choose to allow ventilation of <br />vapors before resuming work (rather than using higher levels of PPE). If ventilation is conducted, <br />additional air monitoring will be performed prior to the resumption of work to determine the level of PPE <br />required. <br />4.3 Levels of Protection <br />Levels of protection for Site activities are described on the Site Air Monitoring Summary. The protection <br />levels may include all or some of the following, based on work scope. <br />Level D: <br />Work uniform — Long pants and shirt with sleeves (no tank tops) — refer to Policy No. 25 Personal <br />Protective Equipment (Section 5.5) <br />Disposable, inner nitrile gloves <br />Chemical-resistant boots with steel toe <br />Safety glasses with side shields <br />High Visibility Reflective Vest Class 1, Class 2, or Class 3 (select based on Traffic speed) <br />Hard hat <br />Disposable, chemical-resistant outer boot covers* <br />Hearing protection* <br />LEVEL C: <br />Half-face or full-face, air purifying respirator (NIOSH approved) <br />Disposable, hooded, chemical-resistant clothing <br />Disposable, chemical-resistant outer gloves <br />Disposable, inner nitrile gloves <br />Chemical-resistant boots with steel toe <br />Disposable boot covers <br />Hard hat <br />Safety Glasses with side shields <br />High Visibility Reflective Vest Class 1, Class 2, or Class 3 (select based on Traffic speed) <br />Coveralls* <br />Hearing protection* <br />(* Optional Equipment, depending on conditions/exposures) <br />HASP Level III <br />Rev. 01 —June 11, 2007 4-3 <br />I.
