Site Background Information LEVAND — BRIGHT PROPERTY 3 East Eleventh Street, Tracy, California The site is located in the eastern-central portion of Tracy, CA, in a mixed residential and commercial area. The site is located at the northeast corner of the intersection of East Eleventh Street and Holly Drive. REGIONAL GEOLOGIC/HYDROGEOLOGIC SETTING The property is situated within the Great Valley Geomorphic Province of California; a large, elongate, northwest trending, asymmetric structural trough. The Great Valley Province has been filled with thick sequences of sediment ranging in age from Jurassic to Recent, creating a nearly flat- lying alluvial plain that extends from the Tehachapi Mountains in the south to the Klamath Mountains in the north. The California Coast Range and the Sierra Nevada form the western and eastern boundaries of this province. Rocks composing the basement complex of the province have not been completely defined but are believed to be of metamorphic and igneous origin. The northern and southern portions of the Great Valley Province have been designated the Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys, respectively. The Modesto, Riverbank, and Turlock Lake Formations and overlying recent alluvium are the principal source of domestic ground water in the 13,500-square-mile San Joaquin Valley Ground Water Basin (Basin 5-22). This basin is drained primarily by the San Joaquin River. Very moist to saturated soil samples were first encountered at approximately 10 and 15 feet below surface grade (bsg) in the soil borings; and groundwater was measured in selected soil borings at approximately 10.50 feet bsg using a Solinst water level meter. UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL On 01 May 2014, one 350-gallon underground storage tank (UST) was removed from the site. The UST was located along the western border of the property, beneath the City of Tracy sidewalk located on the east side of Holly Drive. The following is a brief summary of the tank removal activities: On 29 April 2014, AGE exposed the area of the UST at the edge of the site and determined the City of Tracy sidewalk covered the UST completely. AGE removed the sidewalk concrete. Initially, the soil over the UST was excavated from the site with a backhoe and stockpiled on-site.
