CALIFORNIA STREET/E. MAGNOLIA STREET
STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA
SUBJECT: Work Plan
Earth Systems Pacific (Earth Systems) proposes to supervise the drilling of 10 hollow-stem auger
borings and 6 cone penetration test (CPT) soundings at the above referenced site in Stockton,
California. The borings will be drilled by V&W Drilling Inc (C57 #720904) and the CPT soundings
will be advanced by Middle Earth Geo Testing (C57# 899451). The borings and CPT soundings
will range in depth from 5 to 50 feet below the existing ground surface.
There are no expected hazardous materials that will be encountered during the course of our
investigation and this subsurface exploration is solely for the purpose of determining
geotechnical soil characteristics at the site. The drill cuttings will be left on site. Soil samples will
be collected from the hollow-stem auger borings at selected depths. If indications of possible
contamination are noticed, Earth Systems would notify the county inspector prior to sealing the
borings and contaminated spoils would be drummed.
Contractors will wear level-D protection at least equivalent to the items shown in section IV of
our Site Health and Safety Plan.
The borings and CPT soundings will be backfilled with Portland type II-V cement grout or
bentonite chips, as specified by San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department. The
backfill will be by tremie-method, where borings encounter groundwater or when deeper than
30 feet. Shallow borings or borings in which no groundwater is encountered may be backfilled
using free-fall of pre-mixed grout as directed by the County Environmental Health inspector.
