HAZARDS AND HAZARDOUS MATERIALS. <br />Would the project: <br />Create a significant hazard to the public or the <br />environment through the routine transport, <br />use, or disposal of hazardous materials? <br />Create a significant hazard to the public or the <br />environment through reasonably foreseeable <br />upset and accident conditions involving the <br />release of hazardous materials into the <br />environment? <br />Emit hazardous emissions or handle <br />hazardous or acutely hazardous materials, <br />substances, or waste within one-quarter mile <br />of an existing or proposed school? <br />Be located on a site which is included on a list <br />of hazardous materials sites compiled <br />pursuant to Government Code Section <br />65962.5 and, as a result, would it create a <br />significant hazard to the public or the <br />environment? <br />For a project located within an airport land use <br />plan or, where such a plan has not been <br />adopted, within two miles of a public airport or <br />public use airport, would the project result in a <br />safety hazard or excessive noise for people <br />residing or working in the project area? <br />Impair implementation of or physically <br />interfere with an adopted emergency <br />response plan or emergency evacuation plan? <br />Expose people or structures, either directly or <br />indirectly, to a significant risk of loss, injury or <br />death involving wildland fires, including where <br />wildlands are adjacent to urbanized areas or <br />where residences are intermixed with <br />wildlands? <br />I RI <br />Impact Discussion: <br />a-g) The proposed application(s) would not result in, create or induce hazards and associated risks to the <br />public. Construction activities for the project typically involve the use of toxic or hazardous materials <br />such as paint, fuels, and solvents. Construction activities would be subject to federal, state, and local <br />laws and requirements designed to minimize and avoid potential health and safety risks associated <br />with hazardous materials. No significant impacts are anticipated related to the transport, use, or <br />storage of hazardous materials during construction activities are anticipated. <br />The nearest airport is the Byron Airport, located approximately 5 miles northwest of the project site. <br />The proposed structures will not exceed 50 feet in height. Project referrals have been sent to Caltrans <br />Division of Aeronautics, Contra Costa County ALUC, SJCOG ALUC, and Byron Airport.
