Page 2 SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS: If odors or indications of potential contamination are observed, stop work and phone the office. Forecast high temperature is >90 degrees Fahrenheit. Bring case of water bottles and ice. All crew members responsible for monitoring each other for signs of heat stress. Bring adequate shade cover for drilling. Note that vehicle running with air conditioning is considered adequate shade during breaks. COVID-19 Precautions: Avoid physical contact between crew members- do not shake hands during introductions. Maintain 6-ft or more of physical separation whenever practical. If it becomes necessary for crew members to work closer together than 6-ft, they should wear a face covering such as a cloth face mask or bandana. Disinfect frequently touched surfaces like gate handles with a cleaning wipe before and after touching. Wear gloves when practical. Note that face coverings may make heat stress more likely. Frequent hydration and shade are especially necessary. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE). CHECK ALL APPLICABLE ITEMS Minimum personal protective equipment (required at all times for team members and visitors): hard hat ear plugs Z sturdy work shoes or boots sturdy work clothes sturdy work gloves Z other (specify): sunscreen, mosquito repellant, N95 mask (if PM2.5>151), and drinking water Personal protection: Level of protection: Modified Level D (Level D implies that respirators are not required) Modifications: goggles and safety glasses are not normally required for this work. Such items will be available onsite for specific events such as dusty conditions (consider goggles) and/or use of a pick to break hard ground (safety glasses). Work team members and visitors will use judgment when evaluating the possible need for additional PPE. In addition, at the start of each shift and periodically thereafter the Air Quality Index for PM 2.5 should be checked (for example, using the AirNow.gov website). If the AQI for PM 2.5 is greater than 151, call the Project Manager or Safety Officer to evaluate options including possible use of the N95 mask.
