The Site
is currently operating as a Quick Stop gas station utilizing three USTs with multi-tenant
commercial business space.
WKA understands a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (Phase I ESA) was performed by
ALFA Environmental Assessment Services of Danville, California. A review of the Phase I ESA,
dated January 11,2021, identified Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs) associated
with the current and historical operation of USTs for vehicle refueling.
Soil Sample Collection
To assess the potential for environmental impact at the Site due to the REC identified in the
Phase I ESA, WKA proposes performing soil sampling and laboratory analyses near locations
now occupied by the USTs.
Prior to soil sampling activities, WKA will prepare a site-specific health and safety plan and mark
the location of each soil boring with white paint. WKA will contact Underground Service Alert
(USA) a minimum of 72 hours before drilling to have their members mark the Site for
underground utilities. Additionally, WKA will coordinate with a private underground utility locator
to identify any underground utilities not marked by the USA members. WKA will contact the San
Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) a minimum of 48 hours prior to
soil sample collection to schedule a grout inspection for destroying the soil borings.
www.wallace-kuhl.corn
