1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 PLAN USE AND APPLICABILITY
This Health & Safety Plan (HSP) has been prepared to assist in satisfying worker
health and safety objectives during the performance of wet well cleaning work to
be completed by Costera Waste & Environmental, Inc. It is a compilation of
material handling procedures, health and safety guidelines and/or performance
protocols that, when exercised, are intended to reduce or eliminate the potential
for injuries and/or exposures during the performance of the remediation
activities for the subject project. It has been prepared in conformance to industry
standards -of -care and Construction Safety Orders Title 8, of the California Code
of Regulations (CCR) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration
(OSHA) 29 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 1910.120. Conformance with its
contents does not warrant that injuries and/or exposures will not occur.
This HSP is not a training tool and does not contain the degree of detail
necessary to train an employee on the appropriate performance, approach
and/or equipment -use protocols referenced, herein. It will be assumed that
persons working on this project and referring to this HSP meet the minimum
training requirements described further in this HSP.
This HSP has been prepared to specifically support the field activities to be
completed by Costera, as generally summarized herein. The provisions described
apply to, and shall be complied by, any person visiting or involved in the project,
including employees of Costera, its subcontractors (if applicable) and client
personnel. Others that may be involved are expected to observe the safety rules
and performance requirements established by their respective organizations,
provided they do not conflict with this HSP, but will not be responsible for
enforcing the conditions of this HSP on these representatives.
The contents of this HSP are based on factors and conditi
ons understood prior to
the start of the field activities. If those factors and conditions change during the
performance of the activities, including the service scope, or if conditions exist
that were not considered in the preparation of this HSP, then such shall be
brought to the immediate attention of the person preparing and approving this
HSP, and the HSP shall be modified, accordingly. The date indicated in the lower
right-hand corner of this document indicates the latest version of this HSP.
All parti
cipating personnel are required to review, understand, and acknowledge
such by signing this HSP (on page iv).
COSTERA WASTE &ENVIRONMENTAL, INC.
