10 May 2021
Project No. 21-6390
6.5. COMPLETED PERCOLATION TEST FORM

The percolation test was not completed. Field measurements recorded during the test are
included on the Percolation Test Rate Field Sheet provided in Appendix C.

6.6. PERCOLATION TEST FINDINGS

On site soils within the shallow percolation test hole demonstrated an inadequate
percolation rate.

AGI met with representatives of Blair, Church, and Flynn (Consulting Engineers) and
Krazan and Associates (Geotechnical Engineers) to discuss the results. AGI was
informed that the percolation test was conducted in material compacted to 95% during
construction of the berm and was not intended to be used for the final septic system
backfill. Prior to installation of the septic system, the top 10 feet of the compacted soil in
the disposal field area will be excavated, removed, and replaced with selected fill material
suitable for a standard wastewater treatment system. Following backfill of the selected
material, a new percolation test should be performed to calculate the percolation rate.

7.0. CHEMICAL AND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF SOIL

Soil chemical properties were supplied by regionally sourced material for the surrounding
area.

7.1. CHEMICAL AND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF SITE SOILS

The dominant soil composition in the project study area was inferred from information
provided by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Soil Geographic Database
(USDASGD). The USDASGD soil survey indicates the soil type for the project study area
is predominantly composed of Itano silty clay loam having 0 to 2 percent slopes (#179).
The Itamo silty clay loam is composed of alluvium derived from granitic rock sources.
Soils are described as somewhat poorly drained, with a very low permeability, and salinity
ranging from 0.0 to 2.0 millimhos per centimeter (mmhos/cm). The Itano silty clay loam
typically have similar chemical properties and soil profile between surface grade and 60
inches bsg.

7.2. MASS TRANSPORT PROPERTIES OF UNDERLYING SITE SOILS

The dominant soil type at the site indicates that the soils are semi-permeable and have
moderate water storage. These soils will allow moderate infiltration of water through the
surface soils. The longer the effluent remains near the surface, the more treatment is
