THA / Chemical Storage Facility! 1010 Industrial Drive, Stockton CA/Drilling HASP 10 <br />9.9 Emergency Equipment/Facilities <br />All emergency equipment will be provided by each contractor scheduled for on the site and <br />emergency equipment will be located as close as possible to the work area. <br />Minimum Emergency Equipment: <br />First aid kit <br />Fire extinguisher <br />Mobile telephone <br />Eye wash <br />10. SPILL CONTAINMENT PROGRAM <br />The procedures defined in this section comprise the hazardous material spill containment <br />program in place for activities at the Site. Where spills, leaks, or ruptures may occur, adequate <br />quantities of spill containment equipment (absorbent, pillows, etc.) will be stationed in the <br />immediate area. The spill containment program must be sufficient to contain small and <br />incidental spills generally associated with routine operation and maintenance activities. All <br />drums and containers used during the spill clean-up shall meet the appropriate DOT, OSHA, <br />and EPA regulations for the waste that they will contain. Additionally: <br />Drums and containers shall be inspected to confirm their integrity prior to being <br />moved. <br />Operations on site will be organized so as to minimize the amount of drum or <br />container movement. <br />Employees involved in the drum or container operations shall be warned of the <br />hazards associated with the containers. <br />Drums or containers that cannot be moved without failure, shall be emptied into a <br />sound container. <br />11. HAZARD COMMUNICATION <br />In order to comply with 29 CFR 1910.1200 Hazard Communication, the following written <br />Hazard Communication Program has been established. All employees will be briefed on this <br />program, and have a written copy for review. <br />11.1 Container Labeling <br />All containers received on site will be inspected to ensure the following components are <br />included on the label: (1) the contents; (2) the appropriate hazard warnings; and (3) the name <br />and address of the manufacturer. All secondary containers will be labeled with either an extra <br />copy of the original manufacturer's label or with generic labels, which have a block for identity, <br />and blocks for the hazard warning. <br />11.2 Employee Training and Information <br />Prior to starting work, each employee will attend a health and safety orientation and will receive <br />information and training on the following: <br />An overview of the requirements contained in the Hazard Communication Standard, <br />29 CFR 1910.1200; <br />Chemicals present in their workplace operations; <br />R:IProjectsITHA1003-Stockton Phase ll ESAIDrilling1HASP McGinley and Associates, Inc.
