it\
Stantec Consulting Services Inc.
555 Capitol Mall Suite 650, Sacramento CA 95814-4583
October 4, 2018
File: 185750719
Attention: San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
1868 Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95205-6232
Reference: Soil and Groundwater Investigation Work Plan
7-Eleven Store #20632
4627 Da Vinci Drive
Stockton, California
This work plan, prepared by Stantec Consulting Services Inc. (Stantec) on behalf of 7-Eleven, Inc.,
describes the proposed advancement of direct-push borings to pre-profile soil and groundwater at 7-Eleven
Store #20632, located at 4627 Da Vinci Drive, in Stockton, California (Figures 1 and 2). This work is being
completed prior to underground storage tank (UST) replacement activities at the site, which will require
additional soil excavation and groundwater dewatering. This work plan was prepared as requested by the
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) in order to procure soil boring permits.
SCOPE OF WORK
Stantec proposes advancing two soil borings at the locations depicted on Figure 1 (B-1 and B-2) to a total
depth of 20 feet below ground surface (bgs) to evaluate the potential presence of petroleum hydrocarbons
in soil and groundwater in the area of the new UST basin.
Health and Safety
As required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration Standard "Hazardous Waste Operations
and Emergency Response" guidelines (29 CFR 1910.120), Stantec will prepare a site-specific Health and
Safety Plan (HASP) prior to the commencement of all field work. The HASP will be reviewed by the field
staff and contractors before beginning field operations at the site.
Permitting
Prior to conducting the proposed work, Stantec will obtain the appropriate boring permits from the SJCEHD.
Utility Clearance
At least 48 hours prior to conducting subsurface work, Stantec will contact Underground Service Alert to
delineate subsurface piping near the proposed boring locations with surface markings. A private utility
locator service will also be contracted to clear the areas surrounding the proposed boring locations. Each
boring location will be cleared to five feet bgs with a hand auger prior to drilling.
Design with community in mind
