(Stantec) for Chevron Station #9-4054 on Country Club Boulevard in
Stockton (Site).
Four groundwater zones have been investigated at the Site. The A Zone is represented by wells
screened 5 to 35 feet bgs; the B Zone by wells screened 39 to 51.5 feet bgs; the C Zone by wells screened
65 to 81.5 feet bgs; and the D Zone by wells screened 95 to 101 feet bgs. Hydrocarbon impacts are
mainly in the A and B zones, and to a lesser extent, the C zone. My letter dated 15 August 2016, noted
the need for delineation of the lateral extent of B zone groundwater pollution north of wells MW-12B and
MW-13B, and the lateral and vertical extent of groundwater pollution east of MW-6.
In the submitted Work Plan, AGE proposes the installation of three monitoring wells: (1) MW-17B to
delineate B zone pollution north of MW-12B and MW-13B, (2) MW-15 to delineate A zone pollution east of
MW-6, and (3) MW-16B to delineate B zone pollution west of MW-10.
I concur with the proposed scope of work provided that the following comments are incorporated:
1. Proposed well MW-15 will provide delineation of A zone groundwater pollution east of MW-6, but
will not provide vertical delineation of pollution in this vicinity. In order to provide vertical
delineation, please also install a B zone well in the vicinity of proposed MW-15.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding comments in this letter please call me at (916) 464-4615
or contact me by email at alan.buehler@waterboards.ca.gov .
/s/ original copy signed by
Alan M.
