Box 348600
Sacramento, CA 95834
Re: Access Agreement Request to Conduct Environmental Investigation, Bella Vista
Drive, Stockton, California
Dear Sir/Madam:
Stratus Environmental, Inc. (Stratus) is currently performing environmental consulting
services, relating to a historical release of motor vehicle fuel to the subsurface at 1817
South Fresno Avenue, Stockton, California. The California Regional Water Quality
Control Board has requested that the investigation at 1817 South Fresno Avenue be
continued eastward, to cover an area within your housing community.
On behalf of Mr. Floyd Barnes, Stratus is requesting permission to enter your community
for the purposes of advancing soil borings and collecting groundwater samples within Bella
Vista Drive, near the intersection of La Vita Drive. The requested work locations are
depicted as CPT-1, 2, and 3 on the Figure attached to this letter.
If you agree to allow Stratus and a subcontractor (a licensed driller) to complete this work,
we will agree to the following:
Complete the work at no cost to you.
Protect you from any claims for personal injury or property damage during the
work.
The work will include advancement of soil borings only; no permanent installations
(monitoring wells, for example) will be installed on the property. After advancing the soil
borings and collecting the samples, the boreholes will be backfilled with cement (under
permit and inspection from the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department).
The roadway surface would then be patched to match the surrounding area. If you agree to
allow for this work, Stratus and our subcontractors will work diligently to minimize the
inconvenience to local residents associated with these activities.
KABarnes Trucking\Correspondencebarnes-access-request doc
