Upon approval of the application, eScreenLogic, along with
California-licensed C57 driller, will mobilize to the site to install up to three (3) approximate
2.5-inch diameter borings using a direct-push technology (DPT) rig. In addition to the USA
clearance, the borings will be hand augured within the upper 5 feet of the boring to
additionally clear potential subsurface utilities.
The borings will be drilled to an approximate depth of 25 feet. Undisturbed soil samples will
be collected within acetate liners. Soils will be field screened for visual, olfactory and
instrumental (Photo Ionization Detector "PID") signs of contamination. The soil lithology of
each boring will be logged using the Unified Soil Classification System — USCS. Samples will
be collected at locations of visual, olfactory, or instrumental signs of contamination,
significant changes in lithology, or boring termination based on field observations. The soil
cuttings will be placed within 55-gallon drums and stored on-site as "non-hazardous waste"
until the representative sample is characterized at a certified analytical laboratory allowing
the material to be recycled or disposed of accordingly.
The borings will be grouted using a Portland Type-II cement grout slurry. The grout slurry
will be placed by either tremie or free-fall method as conditions, County policy, and/or on-
site inspector require. The grouting will be terminated near surface to allow the surface
patch of comparable material to be installed.
Soil samples will be analyzed for a variety of chemicals of concern (COCs) including total
petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline and diesel (TPH-G/TPH-D), benzene, toluene,
ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX), and fuel oxygenates including (MTBE, DIPE, ETBE,
TAME, and TBA). In the event shallow groundwater is encountered within the 25-foot-deep
borings, sampling gear and sample-ware will be available on-site to allow for groundwater
grab sampling. Groundwater samples, if collected, will be analyzed for the same COCs as
soil.
4.0 Supporting Documentation Provided
The following information is attached to support this work plan:
Site Health and Safety Plan
Site Plan with proposed boring locations
5.0 Reporting
Upon completion, a report of findings will be prepared to document the field activities,
provide lithological boring logs, and summarize the sample results. Based on the findings of
the sample results, the report will make recommendations. The report prepared by state-
licensed engineer.
(916) 288-81701 eScreenLogi(:.com
11249 Gold Country Blvd., #165 Gold River, CA 95670
