Violations that are classified as"MAJOR"pose an immediate threat to public health <br /> and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations(Title 22)section 65545. <br /> #1 Pool Gates <br /> OBSERVATIONS:gate opening hardware at 35.5 inches. 3119B.2 Gates and doors shall be equipped with self-closing and <br /> self-latching devices. The self-latching device shall keep the gate or door securely closed. Gates and doors shall open <br /> outwardly away from the pool except where otherwise prohibited by law. Hand activated door or gate opening hardware shall <br /> be located at a height no lower than 42 inches(1067 mm)but no higher than 44 inches (1179 mm)above the deck or <br /> walkway. <br /> Install gate opening hardware according to the section above prior to using the pool <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Gates and doors leading into the pool area shall be equipped with self-closing self-latching devices. <br /> Self-latching devices shall be designed to keep the gate or door securely closed. Gates and doors shall open outward from the pool area <br /> except where otherwise prohibited by law. (CCR 65535) <br /> #10 Disinfectant Residual <br /> OBSERVATIONS:Spa.free chlorine at 2 ppm.Adjusted to 3 ppm <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Public pools, when open or in use,shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain <br /> the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid <br /> or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools,and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations:3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free <br /> chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. Chemical feeders shall be constructed <br /> and installed to prevent uncontrolled discharge or siphoning of chemicals and fumes directly into the pool,recirculation system,pool area, <br /> or ancillary facilities.
