The site etches metal products using alodine <br />(Henkel), acid and caustic solutions, and penetrant fluid Ardox 970P25E. The <br />complaint alleges the etching process wastewater (acid and caustic rinse water) <br />and penetrant fluid (Ardox 970P25E) rinse water are being discharged to the on <br />site septic tank. Alodine passivation of metal parts including aluminum uses <br />chromium, cyanide and fluoride compounds. <br />The Ardox 970P25E SDS does not show listed or characteristic hazardous waste <br />properties. <br />Stockton Propeller has been sending out D001 (ignitable) and F003 (spent <br />nonhalogenated solvents) in small amounts (0.2 tons a year). Their disposal <br />manifests do not include heavy metals or cyanide waste. <br />02/04/2021 Discussion with EHD personnel and research regarding this site. Obtained a site BACKUS <br />map with the septic tank location. The three businesses on site that have EHD <br />CUPA permits are Tuleburg Towing, Formurex Inc (pharmaceutical formulation <br />development), and Stockton Propeller. Fornnurex manifests offsite 3-4 tons a <br />year of solvents, pharmaceuticals and corrosives. <br />02/05/2021 Reviewed SDS for Ardox 970P25E and found that it consists of alcohol ethoxylate. BACKUS <br />Discussed case with DTSC contact Hansen Pang and they can help with sampling <br />02/05/2021 Emailed Howard Hold of the Regional Water Board at <br /> <br />BAKER <br />howard.hold@waterboards.ca.gov notifying him of complaint and plan to go out <br />with DTSC. <br />02/09/2021 Meeting with program coordinators regarding this site. BACKUS <br />02/09/2021 No return call or email from Howard Hold of Water Board. Called Howard Hold at BAKER <br />916-464-4679 to notify Water Board of complaint.
